Mathare United custodian Robert Mboya has warned Kakamega Homeboyz not to expect anything from the weekend’s home game at Bukhungu Stadium.
With only four clean sheets in 14 matches to show for since his return to the Slum side last January, Mboya has pledged to deny the host any celebratory moment.
“I want to keep clean sheets in the remaining matches of the first leg to boost my chances of being the best goalkeeper in the league. If I keep 15 or 16 clean sheets, I can make it to the podium,” Mboya said ahead of the trip to western.
“Playing Homeboyz away has always been a tricky fixture but we have to get something to realize our targets for the first leg as a team,” the former Kariobangi Sharks goalie told Mathare United website.
Mboya will be hoping that the Holy month of Ramadhan will usher in better fortunes after a shaky start to the season.
Having kept a clean sheet in the last match against Bandari, the custodian is keen on replicating his man of the match performance at Bukhungu as Mathare look to snap our five-match winless run.
