Mathare United are in morning following the untimely demise of Salim Ali's elder brother

Mathare United assistant coach Salim Ali has lost his elder brother Abdul Kanji after a short illness.

The brother suffered from fever on Saturday and passed away while being taken to the hospital. He is being buried today (Sunday) at his Kariokor home with Salim Ali in attendance. Mathare United club have expressed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved at this trying moments.

"It is unfortunate that our assistant coach Salim Ali lost his brother and as a club we feel the loss directly. May God give them strength during this difficult time," a statement sent to Goal by the club read. 

Salim Ali took charge of Mathare United for four matches in April while head coach Francis Kimanzi was serving his touchline suspension.
