The South Africa international parted ways with the Brazilians on Tuesday and will now be free to join a club of his choice from the 1st of July

Former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Phil Masinga says that Teko Modise stil has the legs in him to play for any other top PSL team, especially Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates who are both reportedly keen to sign him.

“Yes, I still think he has the legs in him to play for another top team. I think he can make a lot of difference in any team in the PSL because he showed in the few games that he played last season that he still has what it takes to play [at the highest level],” Masinga told Goal.

The former SuperSport United man has achieved huge success with the Brazilians following his move from Bucs in January 2011.

He has won the PSL title twice, the Telkom Knockout Cup, Nedbank Cup as well as the Caf Champions League and Caf Super Cup titles during his six-year stay at Chloorkop.

“I believe that on the field, Teko showed that he still has the hunger that we all know him for and I don’t think he has lost any of it as yet,” Masinga said.

The Soweto-born made only 21 appearances in all competitions, mostly coming in Downs' domestic ventures as they were beaten to the Premiership title by Bidvest Wits.
