Veteran defender Marvell Wynne has been held out of training and preseason games after a heart abnormality was discovered during medical evaluations, the San Jose Earthquakes announced Monday.

The 30-year-old will undergo further evaluations, at which point the Earthquakes will release more information.

Wynne has spent time with four MLS clubs in his 11-year career, including the past two seasons in San Jose. The defender has also appeared five times for the U.S. national team.
