Manyama downplays Cape Town City's favourites tag

The league leaders have been tipped by their counterparts as strong favourites for this season's PSL title

Lebogang Manyama has disputed claims by Pitso Mosimane and Gavin Hunt that Cape Town City have the easiest run-in in the PSL.

“I don’t think so. I think every game now in the PSL, especially in the second round, every point counts for every team. So, I think every game is difficult,” Manyama told Goal.

City’s only focus is on the PSL crown, while a few of their rivals have had to deal with the congested fixture list.

However, Manyama feels all the players have to put in 100 percent effort on matchdays irrespective of the amount of time they get to rest.

“Whether you’re well rested or not for the whole week or a couple of days, you still have to put in 100 percent because now every team is looking for points and it’s not easy to get points now,” Manyama said.

The Mother City outfit has scored eight goals in their last two matches against both Chippa United and Platinum Stars.
