Manchester City are keeping tabs on highly-rated Lens starlet N'Sana Simon, Goal understands.
Simon, 16, is yet to sign a professional contract with Lens but he has impressed as the French outfit's Under-17s captain.
And Goal understand City have watched Simon on several occasions, though they face competition from Everton as well as a number of Spanish clubs for his signature.
Lens have a rich tradition of bringing through talented stars such as Raphael Varane, Thorgan Hazard, Geoffrey Kondogbia and Serge Aurier.
And Simon is being tipped to follow in their footsteps by becoming the latest Lens academy star to burst onto the scene.
Moustapha Diarra, Simon's former Cergy Pontoise FC coach, compared the defensive midfielder to Paris Saint-Germain and Italy ace Marco Verratti in an exclusive interview with Goal.
He said: “From a sporting point of view, Coco (Simon) is above average. Like Verratti, he is not very big, but he is very gifted on the ball.
“Of all the players I have had, he is the most humble, he has a calm head on his shoulders and works hard.”
