According to reports in this week's Phakaaathi publication, Mamelodi Sundowns are set to sign Nigerian goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper is expected to undergo a medical at Chloorkop this week.
The Enugu Rangers keeper was part of another golden generation of Nigerian footballers that took bronze at the 2016 Rio summer Olympics.
Daniel may see a move to the current African champions as a way of solidifying his place in the senior national team.
The young keeper received his first Super Eagles call-up in 2016, but he is yet to make an appearance for the senior national team.
It was widely reported that Sundowns had been in contact with the player for some time as they look to bolster their goalkeeping department.
If the Nigerian completes his moves to the Pretoria giants, he will face stern competition.
Pitso Mosimane already has Denis Onyango, Kennedy Mweene and Wayne Sandilands at his disposal.
Onyango’s contract, however, is set to expire at the end of the season and Sandilands is currently undergoing talks with Downs over a new deal.
