Masandawana will be without some of their key players ahead of the clash with the Team of Choice

Mamelodi Sundowns have been dealt a blow ahead of their Premier Soccer League (PSL) clash with Maritzburg United.

Injuries have severely hampered Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane’s plans this season, and it seems that once again Masandawana’s technical team will need to rearrange their squad as they are set to miss some of their key players for Wednesday night’s clash.

According to a statement issued by the club, the attacking duo of Khama Billiat and Anthony Laffor will both miss the clash as they are still nursing injuries. Billiat in particular has experienced an injury-ridden campaign, and after missing out on the clash against Golden Arrows, he is yet to recover in time, meaning that the goal scoring responsibilities will fall firmly on the shoulders of Percy Tau and Themba Zwane.

“Khama Billiat will miss the match as the Zimbabwean International is nursing a knee injury, which saw him also miss the previous match,” a statement issued on the Brazilians official website read.

“Anthony Laffor is also still out, nursing a foot injury, which has kept him out since the Chippa United Clash.

Meanwhile, Sundowns have also offered an update on their other injured contingent.

“Word from the team doctors is that Lucky Mohomi is recovering well from his knee injury. Cuthbert Malajila is recovering from his operation,” the statement concluded.
