Akwa United players will not underrate Remo Stars

The Promise Keepers’ handler has emphasized the need for his wards to respect their Wednesday foes if they are to get a positive result.

Akwa United head coach, Abdu Maikaba has warned his players not to underestimate Remo Stars if they are to come out victorious. 

Maikaba revealed that he has taught his players the basics they must incorporate during match situation and that he expects them to show respect to the Sky Blue Stars but never to be distracted from the overall objective of their trip to Shagamu.

“We know they are last on the league table but I have told my players not to look at their current position on the league table and assert that they are going to be walkover. Results are not got that way and I have challenged to respect them and not underrate them for whatsoever reason. We have our objective of the match defined even before we set out for the journey,” Maikaba told Goal.

“Remo Stars will be difficult opponents because of their precarious situation and their target will be to get at us immediately the game starts but I have told my boys what they must do at that point in time. We are very confident of our chances in Shagamu but we are never arrogant about it.”

 Akwa United are fourth on the league table with 39 points from 24 games.
