Little known Zoo player dominates KPL Awards nomination list

Michael Madoya and Gor Mahia's forward Meddie Kagere leads with the highest number of nominations

Little known Zoo Kericho’s midfielder, Michael Madoya leads with the highest number of nomination in the 2017 Kenyan Premier League Awards set for January 12.

Madoya has been nominated in four categories, including Most Valuable Player where he will fight it out with Gor Mahia’s Meddie Kagere, Lawrence Juma, formerly of Nzoia Sugar, Posta Rangers goalkeeper Patrick Matasi and his Kariobangi Sharks counterpart, John Oyemba.

Madoya also been made it to the Fairplay Player of the Year, Midfielder of the Year as well as New Player of the Year nomination lists.

For the new player of the year, Madoya will battle it out with teammate, Nicholas Kipkirui, Juma, Umaru Kasumba (Sofapaka) and Sven Yidah of Kariobangi Sharks.

Madoya is followed closely by Rwandan international, Kagere who has attracted three nominations-MVP, Golden Boot and Fairplay Player of the Year.
