Arnold Origi must pull up his socks to maintain top spot as Lillestrøm SK first choice keeper after they signed a new player

Harambee Stars goalkeeper Arnold Origi must pull up his socks to maintain top spot as Lillestrøm SK first choice goalkeeper.

This comes after Lillestrøm SK signed a 21 year-old Croatian goalkeeper Marko Maric on loan from the German Club, 1899 Hoffenheim.

"Marko enters the keeper team with Arnold Origi and Emil Ødegaard, and will compete with them for spot," Lillestrøm SK General Manager, Simon Mesfin was quoted on the club's official website.

Maric signed a one year deal with a further option extension. Maric has previously played for Austrian Rapid Vienna, polish Lechia Gdansk and German Hannover 96. He has, in addition, a series of international matches for Croatia national team.

Marko is born in Vienna, Austria, but also has Croatian passport. Maric's acquisition may throw into doubt, the future of Origi who joined Lillestrøm in 2013 and has made 11 appearances as of June 3 for the Norwegian side.

Origi has 32 caps with national team, Harambee Stars.
