Erasmus is back in the Bafana Bafana fold and he's looking forward to the future

South Africa stand-in coach Owen Da Gama recalled French-based forward Kermit Erasmus for the upcoming friendlies against Guinea-Bissau and Angola.

The former South Africa under-20 international was exiled from the national team since 2015, following a Twitter outburst where he proclaimed that he was ‘no back up player’.

The 26-year-old is now back amongst the mix and raring to go after former Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba was axed in December of 2016.

“Everybody knows the reason – I don’t need to speak about the reason,” Erasmus told the media.

“I’m here to focus on these two games‚ and that’s the reason I’m here – to represent my country. I’m always happy to represent my country‚ and I’m happy to be back," he said.

“Everybody has their own opinion on everything‚ and their own take on a situation. And I raised my opinion,” he added.

“For me‚ it’s all in the past. I’m here to focus on the present and to try and structure the future to make it look bright,” Erasmus concluded.
