The Ghanaian has made only four appearances for the Foxes this season and his countryman believes he deserves a better treatment

Former Ghana midfielder Yusif Chibsah has suggested that Leicester City are gradually wasting the talent of defender Daniel Amartey.

The 23-year-old has spent spells on the sidelines this season in Claude Puel's set-up, making only four appearances including two starts following injuries to Danny Simpson and Ben Chilwell.

The former FC Copenhagen star was deployed in a right full-back role in the 3-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town on New Year's Day and he excelled.

"After watching the past three games of Daniel Amartey, I'm very much convinced that Leicester City need to give him more chances," Chibsah said.

"I don’t think he's been given a fair chance to compete since he returned from the previous Africa Cup of Nations. You can't waste the talent of such a young prospect.

"Congratulations to Amartey for your calmness and high rate of professionalism all this while. Not all players can endure this [situation]. Big ups my boy," he added.

According to reports in the local media, Amartey who made 24 appearances last season including 14 starts and scored on goal, is pushing for a move outside England for a regular playing time in the January transfer window.
