Lebo Mothiba gets off the mark in France

The South African starlet found the net as Valenciennes walked away with the three points in the French second tier

South African attacker Lebo Mothiba opened his Valenciennes account for the new season in the 1-0 win over Chateauroux in a Ligue 2 encounter on Friday.

The junior international scored the only goal of the encounter at played at Stade Gaston Petit as Valenciennes recorded their first win of the campaign.

Mothiba headed home a stunning header from the edge of the box three minutes into the second half to secure the three points for the Athenians.

The 21-year-old is spending the season on loan from Ligue 1 side Lille, having also spent the second half of the last campaign with the Faruk Hadzibegic coached side.
