Las Palmas confirm Oghenekaro Etebo loan deal

Las Palmas has confirmed the arrival of Oghenekaro Etebo from Portuguese side, Feirense on loan till the end of the season, with an option of making the deal permanent.

The forward joined the Santa Maria da Feira outfit in January 2016 as a free agent after his contract with Warri Wolves expired at the end of the 2014-15 season.

The Nigeria international scored seven goals in 47 league appearances in his two-year stint at the Estádio Marcolino de Castro.

The club announced the acquisition of the versatile player on Wednesday.

“Etebo arrives on loan from Club Desportivo Feirense of the First Division of Portugal,” read a statement on club website.

“UD Las Palmas reserves the option to purchase the player. He can act as an offensive or extreme midfielder. At 22, he has already been an absolute international with Nigeria.”

Etebo will be looking to help 19th-placed Las Palmas in their battle against relegation from the Spanish top-flight.
