An archived image of Derby County manager Frank Lampard has resurfaced in a photoshop ploy designed to advertise a new state park in America's most famous city.
The 40-year-old coach played for New York City FC in their 2015 and 2016 MLS campaigns, making 29 appearances for the club and contributing 15 goals in the process.
Lampard's time in New York has led to him being strangely featured in a new marketing campaign.
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo gave an update on how Shirley Chisholm State Park is expected to look when it is completed in 2019 and Lampard has found himself at the centre of the new designs.
Company officials clearly used photo editing software to impose an old picture of the Englishman running in his NYCFC training gear in Central Park onto an imaginary backdrop on the waterfront.
It hasn't taken long for people to notice these lazy computer effects online, as several Twitter accounts have taken to the social media platform to comment on the questionable editing on display in the images.
One particular user dubbed the responsible party "my new hero" whilst others took the opportunity to poke fun at Lampard for his perceived lack of energy during his time as a player in MLS.
"Frank Lampard has done more running in this photoshop than he had with NYCFC," another account posted on Thursday.
Lampard is now assured of being immortalised in New York marketing history forever as a result of this latest news, however, he might not be overly happy about it when he finds out why.
