KPL transfers: Bandari sign new keeper, loan out striker

Godfrey Okong'o has signed a three year contract with the Dockers to replace keeper Lucas Indeche

As the Kenya Premier League transfer window comes to a close, Bandari FC has roped in former Onduparaka FC goalkeeper Godfrey Lowo Okong’o.

Club CEO Edward Odour confirmed that the 23 year-old Okong'o has signed a three year deal with the Dockers replacing Lucas Indeche whose six month contract expired. "We have signed Godfrey Lowo Okong'o after the youngster impressed technical bench especially coach Paul Nkata during trials.

"Being young and experienced, Okong’o has a great future and the coach felt he is the most suitable replacement for Lucas Indeche, whose contract with the club has expired."

Okong’o parted ways with the Uganda Premier Leage newbies Onduparaka barely after three months of the season. Before moving to Uganda, Okong’o prominently featured for FKF Division Two League side Shanzu United. Meanwhile, Oduor confirmed they have released striker John Aviera to Kakamega Homeboyz on a one year loan deal.

Avire joined the Dockers at the beginning of the season after completing school at Passenga High school from Central region. Bandari are placed in 14’th position on the 18 team Kenya Premier League table standing with 19 points, nine points behind pace setters Tusker

The Dockers face Tusker in an explosive league match at Moi Kinoru Stadium in Meru on Sunday.
