Defending champions Tusker are at the basement of the Kenyan Premier League after the opening matches

Tusker were the biggest losers in the 2017 Kenyan Premier League’s first matches, conceding the highest number of goals against newcomers Nzoia Sugar on Saturday.

The Brewers galloped five goals and scored only two against their opponents, a result which dragged the defending champions to position 16 of the table after six matches of the week.

Gor Mahia beat Kariobangi Sharks 3-1 to settle at position two, just behind leaders Nzoia Sugar as Sony Sugar, who were defeated by Chemelil Sugar occupy position 15.

Chemelil Sugar, Mathare United, Posta Rangers and Bandari occupy positions three to six respectively after winning all their opening matches.

At position seven, AFC Leopards are waiting to set foot on the pitch since they missed the first match due to the absence of Ulinzi Stars, who were out on continental duty.
