Chemelil Sugar recorded an impressive league derby win as newcomers Zoo Kericho lost their opener to Posta Rangers

Chemelil Sugar started life minus their former coach Francis Baraza on a high note after downing Sony Sugar 2-0 at Awendo Green Stadium on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, the visitors, led by coach Juma Abdallah showed their intent in the second period with a good display that saw them score an opener in the 64th minute.

Willis Ouma floated in a cross from the right, and Edwin Omondi did well to head it past the goalkeeper and into the net. The second goal came less than ten minutes later as Collins Neto won the visitors a penalty after being fouled in the danger zone. Ouma rose for the occasion and buried the spot-kick deep to double his team's advantage.

At Kericho Green Stadium, Zoo Kericho started life in the top tier with a defeat against Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo's Posta Rangers.

The mail men needed a strike via Dennis Mukaisi in the 70th minute to seal maximum points against the hard working tea leaves farmers. It was an impressive result considering the visitors had been reduced to ten men in the 67th minute after Gilbert Osonga had been given his marching orders.
