Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak failed to add to their cabinet the 2018 Ghana FA Gala trophy after Wa All Stars won their maiden title thanks to a 4-2 win on penalties on Sunday at the Nduom Sports Stadium in Elmina.

In the first game of the tournament, Techiman Eleven Wonders shared the spoils 1-1 with second-tier side New Edubiase, but the former progressed on 4-3 penalties while Asante Kotoko were defeated 1-0 by Elmina Sharks.

Hearts of Oak, on the other hand, lost to city rivals Great Olympics in their opening game but the Wonder Club saw their run halted by Wa All Stars in the quarterfinals after they had also eliminated Vision FC.

Wa All Stars defeated Bechem United 2-0 in the semifinals to set up a date with Eleven Wonders who had a fairytale run after they kicked out Inter Allies and Elmina Sharks in the quarterfinals and semifinals respectively through penalty shootouts.
