The former U.S. national team manager posted a video on his Facebook page the day after he was fired.

Former U.S. national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann has thanked players and fans in a farewell video posted on his Facebook page.

Arena confident ahead of second go-round

One day after he was fired and the same day Bruce Arena was named his successor, the German coach posted a message of gratitude and appreciation for his time in charge of the Stars and Stripes. 

“I just simply want to say thank you to all of you for an amazing ride over the last five and half years,” Klinsmann said. “It’s been an amazing experience. It’s been a huge honor to lead the national team over that amount of time.”

Klinsmann also revealed that numerous U.S. players reached out to him after the news of his firing, which the coach described as "emotional."
