Khalid Boutaib ended his four-game goal drought as Yeni Malatyaspor defeated Karabukspor 3-1 in Sunday’s Turkish Super Lig tie.

The 30-year-old forward who last scored a goal on December 24 against Kayserispor, notched his first goal in 2018 as the Malatya Stadium outfit dominated their visitors and won convincingly.

Doria opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a header and that goal stood as the only difference in the first half.

After the restart, Boutaib doubled the lead for the hosts after connecting with Aly Cissokho’s low cross in the 60th minute before substitute Nacer Barazite completed the rout, nine minutes later.

Leandrinho’s effort from the penalty spot in the stoppage time stood as a consolation for Levent Acikgoz’s side who sit at the bottom of the Turkish Super Lig table.

Boutaib who has scored 10 goals in 21 league appearances this season was replaced in the 78th minute – his fourth time in the Turkish top-flight since he arrived from Strasbourg in June.

Yeni Malatyaspor are placed ninth in the league table with 31 points from 23 games and they visit Konyaspor for their next league game on March 4.
