Harambee Stars striker Jesse Were was on target as Zesco United beat Green Eagles 3-2 in the Zambian Premier League on Sunday.

John Ching'andu put Zesco United ahead in the first minute before Were, a former Tusker striker doubled the lead in the 22nd minute from the penalty spot. The Zambian attacking midfielder, Ching'andu completed his brace and Zesco United’s third goal in the 29th minute.

Other Kenyan internationals, who ply their trade with the Zambian electricity suppliers, David Owino and Anthony Akumu were also on the match day squad. Marcel Kalonda was stretched off the pitch after he landed awkwardly from a high ball challenge.
