'Iheanacho has looked a lot fitter' - Leicester City's Craig Shakespeare

The 20-year-old struggled with injury at the start of the season but the gaffer has acknowledged his rapid response from the setback

Leicester City Manager, Craig Shakespeare has confirmed that Nigeria international Kelechi Iheanacho is gradually getting back to shape after overcoming a toe injury at the start of the English Premier League.

The former Manchester City player has only made three appearances for the King Power Stadium outfit since his £25 million move in the summer.

The forward is set for his second start for the 2016 champions after an impressive display in their last League game against Huddersfield Town.

“Iheanacho has looked a lot fitter over the last 48 hours in terms of getting his conditioning right. So we are slowly getting to a fully competitive squad,” Shakespeare told club website.
