Katsina United midfielder Obinna Eleje says he is delighted to return from the ankle injury that sidelined early into the pre-season.
Eleje hurt his ankle during a pre-season tournament in Ilorin and the player who recently started full training session ahead of their season opener against Kano Pillars.
“It was tough for me initially after the injury I sustained but I was able to pull through and now that I am back to my best I am raring to go for Katsina United,” Eleje told Goal.
“We have brought in some quality players and also a new technical crew. We should naturally have an improved performance in the league than last season.
“We played a lot of friendly games and had time to train together for a long period. This won’t be just waste of time. It will surely help when the season starts.”
On his failed move to Enugu Rangers, Eleje said: “It is normal that not all targets are met. I really desired a move to Rangers but I still have to save my career too if I noticed that things were not going as expected.
“I have returned back to my club and I am happy I made that decision,” he concluded.
