Kateregga eyes final as Uganda takes on Zanzibar

Cecafa Senior Challenge defending Champions Uganda Cranes will face Zanzibar in the second semi-final at Moi Stadium, Kisumu on Friday.

In the first semis played on Thursday at the same venue, hosts Kenya defeated Burundi by a solitary goal to qualify for the final. Uganda Cranes midfielder Allan Kateregga is expected to be in the team to face Zanzibar, and he says the team is prepared well.

“This is going to be a tough match for sure, Zanzibar have worked their way to the semis and want to show it was not by chance. On our part, we have also given our best and that is why we are in the semi finals. Despite the fact that this is going to be a difficult one, we are prepared well.

“The spirit in the camp is high and we know we can grace the final, but first we have to go past Zanzibar,” Kateregga told Goal.

Zanzibar have won just one of the 15 matches they have played against Uganda in all competitions.
