Kariobangi Sports stop Cleavers Stars in Governors Cup

Kariobangi Sports maintained their good run in Governors Cup after they beat Cleavers Stars FC 2-0 in a match played at Kariobangi North Primary School on Sunday.

In other matches, Kariobangi Sharks U-20 won 5-4 on post match penalties against Borabora FC while Kariobangi Youth FC won 1-0 against Kariobangi United. Blue Panthers also lost 3-0 on penalties to Kayole Spring Valley while a double from Michael Wambua and Francis Iangweni’s strike saw Matopeni United beat Reibontos 3-0.

At Kasarani Sub County, Mwiki Stanford won 2-0 against The Legends FC, G-Eleven won 3-1 against VTG FC, Mwiki Youngsters lost 6-0 to Terror Squad while Mwiki United beat Citizen FC 4-1.

On Saturday: Pumwani Ward: Young Brothers YMCA FC opened first match in the ward fixture with a convincing 5-1 win over Indomitable Lions as William Kimathi scored a hat-trick for the victors in the 13th, 27th and 67th minutes while team mate Thomas Mbuthia also scoring the fourth goal in the 76th. Henry Olichiri scored for the losers in the 70th before Larry Matara hit the winner in 90th minute.

Makadara Ward: Young Rovers 2 Baha Utd 0, Makadara Youth 2 Bedjoys F.C.1. Salem Sportive 0 Hakati Sportive 2; Dagoretti North: One Stone F.C beat Protouch F.C 3-0 on penalties to sail into the next round during quarter-final matches.

Gatina United overcame Kakamega United 2-0 with Vincent Amage scoring the brace in the 50th and 76th minute. Kasarani Ruai Ward: 26 Stars F.C were on rampage as they overcame Kamulu F.C 5-1 in a one sided encounter while Ruai United won 2-0 against Catalan FC.

Gatina Ward: Felix Otieno opened the score in the 40th minute during the local derby pitting Vapour Academy and Vapour Sports with Berry Conte also scoring the second in the 45th minute before Philip Obuya pulled one back for the losers in the 67th minute.
