Kaizer Chiefs to play Chippa United in the Premier's Cup

Amakhosi will get to play at least one more official friendly match before the 2017/18 PSL season kicks off

Kaizer Chiefs have been confirmed as Chippa United's opponents for this weekend's Premier's Cup. 

The one-day event will take place on Saturday, August 5 at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in Mdantsane.

The Port Elizabeth-based outfit announced on their social media platforms on Tuesday afternoon that the Glamour Boys have agreed to take part. 

Amakhosi will go into the encounter in the Eastern Cape brimming with confidence following their Saturday's 1-0 win over Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup.

Steve Komphela's men have been impressive since the start of their pre-season training.

The 50-year-old will get another chance to assess as many players as possible before the new season kicks off in less than two weeks' time.

Komphela has been raving about the younger players in his squad, including Wiseman Meyiwa and Khotso Malope among others, and he's expected to give them a run against the Chilli Boys.
