Goal has been informed that Kaizer Chiefs are working on a deal to sign Sinethemba Jantjie of Free State Stars during the January transfer window.
According to an impeccable source privy to the situation, Amakhosi have sweetened the deal by offering William Twala, who has struggled to cement his place in Steve Komphela's starting line-up over the past two seasons.
The source said that Chiefs are keen to let go of Twala as his contract with them is coming to an end in June 2018.
Twala, 27, joined the Soweto giants on a two-and-a-half-year deal from Chippa United in January 2016.
This season only, the former Orlando Pirates winger has 132 minutes of game time under his belt.
"There is something happening for sure. The information I have is that Twala will be included in the deal to sign Jantjie," the source told Goal.
"Remember his [Twala's] contract with Chiefs is expiring in June. So, it only makes sense that they cash in on him in January. So, yes, it's happening. If all goes according to plan, then Jantjie will be a Chiefs player for the second half of the season," concluded the source.
Jantjie rose to prominence at the start of the season for his ability to eliminate players despite breaking into the professional ranks last season.
And Chiefs are looking to increase competition on the flanks in an attempt to salvage what has been a poor campaign for everyone associated with the club.
The 28-year-old winger, who joined Ea Lla Koto from Mbombela United in July 2016, has made 12 appearances in all competitions, with a single goal and two assists to his name thus far.
On the other hand, Twala hasn't really offered the Naturena-based outfit much since his move from the Chilli Boys, and the arrival of Joseph Molangoane and recently that of Bhongolethu Jayiya, saw him fall down the pecking order.
