Kaizer Chiefs striker Letlotlo could miss 2017/18 season

The Soweto-born attacker will miss a large portion of next season after sustaining a serious injury

Kaizer Chiefs have revealed that Emmanuel Letlotlo is out for six to nine months with a long-term injury.

The 21-year-old striker has injured his raptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) according to the club.

A club statement read: “Letlotlo hurt his knee during training.

“He will undergo surgery, which is scheduled for Friday.

"It means that the talented striker will be out for six to nine months."

The Chiefs academy product missed the recent 2017 Maize Cup which was won by Amakhosi over the weekend.

Letlotlo was promoted to the Amakhosi first team prior to the 2016/17 campaign after winning the 2015/16 Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC) Golden Boot.

He made only five PSL appearances without scoring a single goal in his debut season.
