Kaizer Chiefs promote 21-year-old striker Yusuf Bunting

Kaizer Chiefs have officially promoted Yusuf Bunting from their football academy. 

The 21-year-old striker has signed a four-year deal after impressing in the club's MultiChoice Diski Challenge (MDC) team over the last two seasons. 

Bunting recently stole the limelight at the SAB U21 National Championship wherre he scored a whopping 12 goals in five games, including two hat-tricks for Gauteng.

He was named the Best Player as well as the Top Goalscorer at the same tournament.

He joins a long list of players who were recently promoted to the first team by the club under the tutelage of Steve Komphela. 

Wiseman Meyiwa, Bruce Bvuma, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and Khotso Malope are among those who were handed professional contracts this season. 

The acquisition of Bunting will undoubtedly increase competition upfront where Chiefs are looking very thin at the moment. 

Amakhosi are relying heavily on Gustavo Paez and Bernard Parker for goals, while Ryan Moon is set to be gradually introduced by the technical team.
