Kaizer Chiefs' key players at risk of missing Bidvest Wits clash

Amakhosi have confirmed that Tshabalala has recovered from his injury and will travel to Rustenburg ahead of their midweek clash

Kaizer Chiefs are set to face off with Platinum Stars in their penultimate Premier Soccer League (PSL) clash on Wednesday night.

Amakhosi’s form of late has developed into a real cause for concern, having failed to register a victory in their previous four league outings.

Most recently, Chiefs suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Polokwane City.

However, with Bidvest Wits waiting in the wings coach Steve Komphela’s side have been given a major boost by the return of their influential midfield duo of Willard Katsande and Siphiwe Tshabalala.

While the Zimbabwean missed the game against Rise and Shine through suspension, Tshabalala’s absence has clearly been felt following a muscle injury which has kept him side-lined for the past two weeks.

Nonetheless, according to the club's physiotherapist David Milner, the veteran is back in action.

“Shabba is ready to travel to Rustenburg,” Milner told the club’s website.

Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that Sibusiso Khumalo and Brilliant Khuzwayo will not travel with the team for Wednesday’s game.

“Sibusiso Khumalo (knee) and Brilliant Khuzwayo (ankle) are still recovering,” he added.

Komphela will also be wary that Tshabalala and George Lebese must tread carefully as they are on three yellow cards and face the threat of suspension ahead of their final game against Wits.
