Kaizer Chiefs honoured to be visited by Fifa

Fifa will be at the Amakhosi village in Naturena for the next three days, and the club is chuffed to be hosting the world football's governing body

Kaizer Chiefs marketing director Jessica Motaung says the club is honoured to be visited Fifa delegates this week.

Amakhosi together with Orlando Pirates were the two PSL selected by Fifa as part of their professional football case study.  

The Fifa delegation which is led by Andres Portabella and Ahmed Harraz, arrived in South Africa last weekend, and paid the Buccaneers a visit on Monday and Tuesday.

They will conduct a series of interviews with Amakhosi from today [Wednesday], take footage of their headquarters in Naturena and see how the club is run until the 27th of January 2018.  

“It is an honour and a huge recognition to be part of the FIFA Professional Football Case Study,” Motaung told the Amakhosi website. 

“To be selected as an example of a truly professional football organisation is something special. We look forward to engage with the FIFA delegation in the coming days,” said Motaung. 

According to the Soweto giants, the Fifa delegation will also attend Saturday's league match between Chiefs and Sundowns at the FNB Stadium. 

Motaung said they're already looking forward to engaging with Fifa and also to showcase how much they have worked to be part football development in the country.

“We are looking forward to represent the PSL and the football fraternity. We are excited to showcase how much we have worked to be part of the development of football in South Africa,” added Motaung. 

The visit by Fifa comes at a time when the Glamour Boys are celebrating 48 years of the club's existence. 

Amakhosi remain one of the biggest and successful football clubs in South Africa, and they continue to make waves on and off the field.
