Kaizer Chiefs closing in on Zimbabwean defender Hadebe

Zimbabwean and Chicken Inn defender Teenage Hadebe is set to complete his move to Kaizer Chiefs before the end of the week.

The 22-year-old confirmed to Newsday that he will arrive in South Africa today (Tuesday), having already said his goodbyes to Chicken Inn teammates and management.

“I am leaving tomorrow (today), but today (yesterday), I am travelling to Harare to meet my manager (Gibson Mahachi) before I depart for South Africa from there,” Hadebe was quoted as saying by the publication.

Hadebe is expected to undergo fitness and medical examinations with the rest of the Amakhosi team later this week.

The Soweto giants reportedly instructed Chicken Inn not to use Hadebe in last week’s league game against Ngezi Platinum Stars to protect the player from any last-minute injuries.

Hadebe’s agent, Gibson Mahachi confirmed to Goal last week that the deal was still on, adding that he was only finalizing a few important things with Amakhosi.

The player spent some time on trial with the Glamour Boys last year, and it's now clear that Steve Komphela is convinced that he has what it takes to play for a team of Amakhosi’s calibre.
