Juventus v Sporting Betting: Frail Juve defence likely to mean goals in Turin

Having seemingly lost their defensive invincibility this season, Al Hain-Cole expects the Bianconeri to be joined on the scoresheet by Jesus' team

Having suffered their first home defeat in 57 matches against Lazio at the weekend, Juventus will be aiming to bounce straight back when Sporting come to town for Wednesday's Champions League clash.

Massimiliano Allegri's men have won 13 and lost none of their last 20 matches at the Juventus Stadium in this competition, and are clear 9/20 (1.45) favourites with BetSafe to come out on top for the sixth in a row here.

The Leoes ended a run of five consecutive defeats on the road in the Champions League by overcoming Olympiakos 3-2 in their last away game, but are 33/5 (7.60) outsiders to pull off a shock victory in Turin.

Just one of the last 26 fixtures at this ground has resulted in a draw, but you can get odds of 4/1 (5.00) on this one finishing up all square.

As well as inflicting a first home defeat in over two years, the Lazio match saw the Bianconeri concede in front of their own fans for the first time this campaign, although those two strikes from Ciro Immobile will not have come as any great surprise considering the downturn in defensive performances so far this season.

The usually watertight Italian champions have conceded 10 goals in eight leagues games so far - twice as many as leaders Napoli and already more than they had after 13 rounds last season.

When you also consider the 3-2 Supercoppa defeat by Lazio and 3-0 thrashing by Barcelona in the Champions League, the departure of influential defender Leonardo Bonucci takes on more and more significance, which should all provide encouragement for a visiting team that has scored the majority of its goals away from home in two of the three seasons under Jorge Jesus.

That trend is particularly strong so far this campaign, with 23 of the 27 goals they have scored coming away from the Estadio Jose Alvalade - an average of over three per match on their travels.

All in all, odds of 89/100 (1.89) are well worth backing on Sporting joining a defensively susceptible Juventus on the scoresheet in this clash.
