John Comitis confirms Chinese interest in Cape Town City’s assistant coach Ian Taylor

Cape Town City could lose Taylor and Majoro in the near future, but Comitis hasn't started panicking as yet

Cape Town City chairman John Comitis has told Goal that assistant coach Ian Taylor could be on his way to China.

Accordding to Comitis, Taylor received an offer from an unnamed Chinese club, but the former Ajax Cape Town coach is still considering it. 

He further revealed that City will not stand in Taylor's way should the coach accept the position.  

“There is a request for him to go to China and he is carefully considering it. It’s nothing confirmed yet, but if it materialises we will fully support him and not stand in his way,” Comitis told Goal.

Taylor, joined the club from Ajax Cape Town, on the recommendation of then coach Eric Tinkler at the start of last season.

Meawhile, striker Lehlohonolo Majoro’s future is up in the air at the moment, as reports emerged that he is plotting a possible move to SuperSport United.

“At the moment, he has a one-year contract remaining with us and we would like for him to see it out. He is an integral member of our team, and we will sit down with him in January to discuss a new deal. We hope that he is patient enough to stay with us until the rest of the season,” Comitis concluded.
