Jesse Were scored his second goal in Zambian Premier League but it was not enough to convince coach Tenant Chembo to stay at the club.

Chembo tabled his resignation letter immediately after Zesco United's 1-0 win over Nkana in Kitwe.

Despite picking three points on the road to move seventh on the log, Chembo called it quit after serving close to six months as an interim coach.

“Zesco United Football Club has parted company with the Club's Interim coach Tenant Chembo. The coach announced his resignation today after the game involving Zesco and Nkana Football Clubs in Kitwe.

“The team and fans will be informed of the new appointment on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. The club wishes Tenant Chembo all the best in his future endeavors,” Zesco said in a statement.
