Guikan signed with reigning Kenyan champions from Mauritius side, AS Port Louis

Gor Mahia warmed up for the Kenyan Premier League title defence with a 6-0 win over Egerton University in a pre-season friendly match held on Friday.

Coach Dylan Kerr and his charges are currently camping in Nakuru County in readiness for the start of the 2018 season next month.

Ivorian import, Ephrem Guikan gave Kerr and the rest of K’Ogalo forwards that consist of Rwandan duo of Meddie Kagere, Jacques Tuyisenge, a hint of what he’s made of when he announced his Gor Mahia arrival with a brace, albeit in a low profile match.

Guikan shook the net twice in the built-up with defender Wellington Ochieng, midfielder, Francis Kahata, Boniface Omondi and Samuel Onyango all contributing a goal each.

Gor Mahia will take on AFC Leopards in a competitive fixture in the Super Cup on January 28 before turning attention to the league kick off on one week later.

K’Ogalo will also be battling in the continental front where Leones Vegetarianos of Equatorial Guinea awaits.

The first match between the two sides are scheduled for between February 9-11 in Nairobi.
