The Stoke City forward became the 26th player to reach 100 goals in the Premier League, setting the record as the oldest player to meet that mark

Peter Crouch admitted his relief to score his 100th Premier League goal, but also revealed it was a 'proud moment' for him.

The England international became the 26th player to achieve the tally, going level with Matt Le Tissier on 100 goals, having struck against Everton in Stoke City's 1-1 draw.

Pathetic Man Utd proving they're sixth best

Crouch netted goals for Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool, Tottenham and Portsmouth, as well as Stoke since 2001 to reach the milestone.

He now joins an exclusive list of goalscorers including Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen, and is delighted with the achievement.

"I'm really pleased obviously. I'm glad it came quite early," Crouch told Sky Sports

"I was on 99 for not that long. It was nice to get it out of the way. It's a proud moment.

"You look along that list and there's top players among it. I'm very proud and privileged to be among them."

The 36-year-old also became the oldest player to score 100 goals, as he dusted off his trademark robot dance celebration to commemorate the achievement.

In 2006 Crouch retired the celebration, saying he would only do it again if England won the World Cup, but he brought it out of retirement in the draw against Everton.

"I was under a lot of pressure to pull that out," Crouch admitted.

Fuming Mourinho slams Klopp behaviour

"I don't think the fans have seen it in club football. It was a bit rusty, but it was a nice feeling to score and bring it back for nostalgia purposes."

In reaching 100 goals Crouch converted 48 headers, 43 goals with his right foot and scored nine left-footed finishes.
