ISL 2017: Joao de Deus hoping for luck to shine in Delhi Dynamos clash

NorthEast United FC coach Joao de Deus is hoping for a little more luck in their ISL clash against the Delhi Dynamos...

Despite NorthEast United FC being winless so far from their opening two Indian Super League (ISL) encounters, head coach Joao Carlos Pires de Deus wants his side to continue playing the same way in their next game against Delhi Dynamos.

In the national capital for their second consecutive away tie, the NorthEast United coach wants his wards to continue creating opportunities.

“What I tell my boys is to do the same as we did in the first two games. We created enough opportunities in those two matches. We’ll try to do the same against Delhi Dynamos and hope we get a little bit more lucky,” the Portuguese coach said at the pre-match press conference.

The John Abraham co-owned outfit were thrashed 3-0 by Chennaiyin in their last ISL match before making the trip up north.

The Portuguese tactician was wary of the threat the national capital-based side pose. He was confident of his side’s preparation in the lead-up to the crunch game set to take place at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium on Saturday.

“They have a good attack and have a balanced squad. We have studied our opponents and we’ll try to minimise their attacking threat,” Deus said.
