Inter will be hoping a fresh new look brings about a reversal in fortune, with the club unveiling their home kit for 2017-18.

The Nerazzurri have disappointed and frustrated in equal measure since their era of domestic dominance came to a close.

'Inter could afford to buy Ronaldo'

They have finished outside of the Champions League in each of the last five seasons, and will stretch that run to six seasons in 2016-17 – as they currently sit seventh with one game left to play.

Inter do, however, have ambitious owners at the helm and will be expected to be busy when the transfer window opens bringing in fresh faces to fill their smart new shirt.

Inter have the foundations in place on which to build, with their plenty of sought-after talent within their squad.

Mauro Icardi, Samir Handanovic, Ivan Perisic and Geoffrey Kondogbia have all drawn admiring glances from afar, while Joao Mario and Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa were high-profile additions last summer.

Whether any of them can help to inspire Inter next season remains to be seen, but they will take on that challenge looking stylish.

The Serie A outfit claim their new design, which includes vertical stripes of different widths, takes “inspiration from the city of Milan” while each jersey is made from “approximately 18 recycled plastic bottles”.

Inter will wear the kit for the first time on Sunday as they bring their season to a close at home to Udinese.
