"We are bidding for it. It is not that this is confirmed, we will try and convince FIFA at the FIFA conference in Kolkata" said Patel. FIFA Executive committee will meet in Kolkata from October 26-28.

With India set to host the FIFA U-17 World Cup next month, this announcement comes as welcome news for football fans in the country. The FIFA U-17 World Cup is scheduled to kick off on October 6 and will be held across six venues, with Indian team set to play their group stage games in Delhi.
