The Promise Keepers’ striker has challenged his teammates to show their title credentials with a positive result in Jos on Sunday

Akwa United’s Alhassan Ibrahim believes that games like the tie with Plateau United are what the Promise Keepers should aspire to pick points if they are to be regarded as title contenders at the end of the season.

The Promise Keepers are third on the league table with 43 points from 26 games and they face the Peace Boys who have only lost two points at home from 13 matches and Ibrahim pointed out that they must go all out and pick at least a point off the league leaders in Jos to show that they have the ambition of ending the season well.

“I am in love with matches like this one. Plateau United are playing very well and we are equally good too. We need to do well in games like this and I am confident that we can do well irrespective of where the game is played. We stopped their unbeaten run in the reverse fixture in Uyo and we are poised to do even more before their fans on Sunday,” Ibrahim told Goal.

“We have proved since the start of the season that we have something special that we are targeting and even after our tough start to the season we still kept on to our philosophy and it is paying off for us now. We are certain we shall come back from Jos with something positive.”

Ibrahim is the highest scorer for the Promise Keepers with 11 goals to his credit.
