I was keen on shooting - Fulham's Seri reacts to award-winning Burnley goal

Jean Michael Seri was only keen on shooting when he got the ball from outside Burnley’s area, the Fulham midfielder disclosed after receiving the award for Premier League Goal of the Month for August.

Four minutes into his third appearance since sealing a big-money move from Nice in the summer, Seri’s ‘absolute stunner’ beat goalkeeper Joe Hart to put his side ahead at Craven Cottage.

The Cottagers would go on to win the tie 4-2 and the highly-rated Cote d’Ivoire midfield schemer revealed he had only one thing on his mind which was to ‘shoot’.

"When I received the ball, I said, 'Shoot, shoot, shoot,'" Seri told Premier League. "And I shot."

The former Chelsea and Barcelona target also spoke about how fans’ reactions to the strike ensured he celebrated the goal, having had plan to start doing so after 10 goals.

"When I saw the fans, I say, 'Wow!' At this moment, I have to celebrate, so I celebrated!"

Seri, who also has an assist to his name, will hope to continue in his impressive form as Fulham face an uphill test against Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday.
