It was very well known that the I-Legaue clubs would pounce on players who remain unsold in the Indian Super League drafts held on Sunday, but Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan have left their opponents much behind by making seven signings in the last 24 hours.
The Mariners, on Monday agreed terms with wingers Israil Gurung and Nikhil Kadam to fill the void left by the players who chose to join the ISL bandwagon.

Gurung, a right winger, who had grabbed headlines for his move to a second division Portugese club a couple of years back, has been out of first team action for quite some time due to falling out with FC Pune City officials.
Kadam, a former Pune FC left winger, was arguably the best player in his position during the first half of the 2013-14 season, but his career suffered a slump later on mainly due to a nagging knee injury. He was plying his trade for Mumbai FC in the last edition of the I-League.

The team, which will be coached by Shankarlal Chakraborty in the Calcutta Football League, had signed Avishek Das, Denson Devadas, Shilton D'Silva, Gurjinder Kumar and Debabrata Roy on Sunday evening. The first two footballers also took part in the practice sessions on Monday morning, where the players continued their preparation despite torrential rain.
The club is expected to start its CFL campaign in the second week of August.
