The head coach stated that his side dominated the game and displayed an attacking brand of football.

I-League side Gokulam Kerala FC registered their first win at Calicut on Sunday in a 3-2 result over Bobby Nongbet’s Shillong Lajong.

Speaking on the result, head coach Bino George stated that his troops put their best foot forward in what he termed to be their greatest result of the season. Further, he mentioned that the Kozhikode-based side took control of the game which helped them seal the victory.

‘’I told the boys that today's match was our best chance to win at home out of the rest of the upcoming games. The other games are against Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. I asked the boys to play for the Calicut crowd. Everyone played their hearts out. We played an attacking game and dominated the game. This is our best win of the season,’’ he commented.

Gokulam Kerala registered three goals against The Reds with each of the three coming in the second half. On being asked which was the head coach’s favourite strike, he answered, ‘’Among today's goals, I liked Arjun's (Jayaraj) goal. He is a young player and scored the match-winner.’’

George believes that Kerala’s development in football is dependent on more tournaments being played in the state.

"There should be competitive tournaments in Kerala. Only then, the players will improve,’’ he expressed.

On being questioned about the likelihood of new players being recruited during the winter transfer window, George replied, ‘’We are waiting for two more strikers to join the team. We have a week's time. They will strengthen the team.’’

Meanwhile, Gokulam have let go of Kamo Bayi and Odafa Okolie.
