Comments
The Brazil-born will not be part of the Chennai City FC roster for the remainder of the season…

Murilo de Almeida has left Chennai City FC by mutual consent as the 29-year-old striker has some personal issues back home which he had to attend.

The Timor Leste international played in eight I-League matches and scored a single goal against Churchill Brothers. He was also impressive in his team’s 2-1 victory over Mohun Bagan.

“We have no choice but to let him go because he has explicitly stated that he is not in the right frame of mind to continue playing for the rest of the season. We are saddened by his departure and wish him well. We still harbour hopes that he will return next season to play for us once he has settled his issues,” said Rohit Ramesh, Chennai City FC owner.

Chennai City are placed ninth on the I-League table having amassed nine points from 11 matches. Their next match is against Indian Arrows this Saturday.
