A court order obtained by petitioners on Wednesday has upheld KPL's initial fixtures

Kenya’s High Court has ordered that Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka be included in the 2017 Premier League fixtures.

Three fans, on Tuesday, filed a case at High Court in Kisumu with demands that the two clubs be included in the KPL list and a day later (on Wednesday), a ruling was delivered to their advantage.

Sports Tribunal orders for league kick-off

According to a ruling in Goal’s possession, the court upheld KPL’s initial fixtures which had 14 clubs (including Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka) and the Sports Disputes Tribunal’s directive that KPL and Football Kenya Federation publish fixtures for the season with immediacy.

Notably, the fixtures released by KPL on February 6, which is being refered to in the court order, had excluded Zoo Kericho and Nakumatt.

The matter will be mentioned for further directions on February 23 with Emanuel Obiero Ochieng’, Sperus Gor Oketch and Sadat Abdalla Khamisi being the petitioners against Kenyan Premier League Limited, Football Kenya Federation and Sports Disputes Tribunal.High Court ruling over KPL-FKF tussle
