Hearts of Oak players celebrating goalGoal Ghana

Hearts missing key players in Ghana PL, says Abbey

Hearts of Oak assistant captain Thomas Abbey has admitted that they are missing some key players in the Ghana Premier League due to injuries.

The Phobians saw their title chase dealt a big blow when they shared the spoils 1-1 last weekend at home against Elmina Sharks.

Head coach Frank Elliott Nuttall has not had a full squad since he took over in February, missing players including captain Robin Gnagne and centre-back Vincent Atinga.

"These are great and key players for the team and we do miss them in our matches sometimes," Abbey told Graphic Sports.

"Their absence has really affected us but I believe we have an equally good replacement in Vincent Atinga and Richard Akrofi as they are doing a good job." he added.

Hearts are third on the log with 19 points, seven points behind leaders Wafa and are bracing for tough fixtures.

They will travel to Tamale to face debutants Bolga All Stars in matchday 13 before a home game against Wafa.

They will however lock horns with Sporting Mirren this weekend in the round 32 of the FA Cup.
