The Argentine has been linked with a move to PSG, but his club manager has reinforced his claim that his striker will not be leaving in the summer

Pep Guardiola has insisted in the strongest possible terms that Sergio Aguero will be at Manchester City next season.

And Aguero, who scored twice in City's 5-0 win against Watford on Sunday, confirmed his manager's comments moments later when asked by Goal.

Aguero's future has been the subject of much speculation over recent months, and Goal has previously reported that his representatives had shown an interest when Paris Saint-German enquired regarding his services earlier this season.

City are also pursuing a number of high-profile forwards this summer and Aguero, who suggested the club would have to decide if they "had a place for him or not", had also claimed in March that he would sit down with his employers in June to clarify his future.

But Guardiola stressed that the Argentine will be kept at the Etihad Stadium for next season.

"How many times have I answered that question about Sergio and [Vincent] Kompany. How many times?" he asked, having initially misunderstood a question about their improved performances.

"In Manchester maybe 10 or 15. I am not repeating. They are players for Manchester City and will be at Manchester City next season."

Asked to confirm that stance, the Catalan added: "Were you in my press conference in Manchester? Every press conference. Ok guys. He will be here next season. Happy? Good. Perfect."

Aguero has often seemed to be at odds with City's official policy but when asked if he was staying in the post-match mixed zone he said simply: "yes, why not?".

Aguero had a meeting with his agents and Guardiola earlier this season and he suggested there would be another once the season had ended.

But sources close to the player have told Goal that the Argentine has always been aware of City's intentions and that there will be no meeting.
